It’s been a busy couple of months for Canada’s major party leaders, and with less than a week left until election day, things are unlikely to be slowing down. However, New Democratic Party leader, Jagmeet Singh, took a couple of hours out of his busy schedule on Tuesday, to show his parents around the NDP’s private plane. Sharing a rare insight into his family life, Singh took to Instagram to share some heartwarming photos of their reunion. Posting several intimate photos on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, Singh wrote, “My family has been through a lot over the years. Their resilience has inspired me beyond words. So having my mom and dad drop by during a busy day of campaigning was a special moment I’ll never forget.” The rare photos showed Singh warmly embracing both of his parents during their visit, and also showed them smiling against the backdrop of the NDP's chartered plane. An additional video shared by CBC New journalist, Hannah Thibedeau, showed Singh introducing both of his elderly parents to the reclining feature of his plane’s seats, which they both seemed to enjoy thoroughly! One of Singh’s followers wrote, “Love to your mom and dad, and thanks to them for sharing you with us!” Another replied to say, “This is very sweet. I'm sure they are super proud of you.” Love to your mom and dad, and thanks to them for sharing you with us ❤️— Elle Peah ...- - -... While Singh’s parents are rarely seen on his social media platforms, photos with his wife, Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu, are often shared with his thousands of followers. Similarly, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, are always sharing candid photos of the two of them together, and pictures of their three kids are also fairly common. Things are no different for Conservative leader, Andrew Scheer, who has also been known to share behind-the-scene photos of his family life on his social media channels. However, it won’t last for much longer! Canadians will head to the polls on Monday, October 21. There are stories everywhere.
