Justin Trudeau has been the subject of public scrutiny as of late. The SNC-Lavalin controversy has resulted in the prime minister losing favour and trust from some Canadians. Now in the midst of the SNC-Lavalin Scandal, Justin Trudeau posted a new tweet on March 1 and it has resulted in many Canadians calling for his resignation as Canada's prime minister

The SNC-Lavalin scandal involves allegations that Justin Trudeau and his office intervened and pressured Canada's attorney general at the time, Jody Wilson-Raybould, to prevent corruption and bribery charges from being laid in the SNC-Lavalin court case. The scandal has already led to the resignation of two people – Canada's former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould and Trudeau's longtime advisor and friend Gerald Butts

Ever since more details surrounding the SNC-Lavalin case were revealed to the public, there has been major controversy surrounding Justin Trudeau and the federal government.

It looks like that many Canadians have lost trust in Justin Trudeau and he is the subject of public backlash. Today was further proof of this. The prime minister retweeted a tweet today from the NHL about hockey player Carey Price meeting a fan after her mom passed away from cancer. While the original tweet from the NHL is heartwarming, the responses to Justin Trudeau's tweet are definitely not.

The tweet was posted one hour ago by Trudeau. Since then, the comment section has already been chock full of savage comments calling out the prime minister and people telling him to straight up resign.

It's not only civilians calling on Trudeau to resign amidst the controversy. His opposition has as well. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer also said on Wednesday, February 27, that the prime minister must resign due to the SNC-Lavalin scandal in an official statement

Wilson-Raybould revealed her opinion during a Commons' justice committee meeting on Wednesday and said that she did feel pressured by Trudeau and other Liberal government officials to prevent criminal prosecution in the SNC-Lavalin case, according to Global News

She said she received "veiled threats" from civil servant Privy Council clerk Michael Wernick, which she said were inappropriate, but she did not consider illegal, Global News reports.
