Masks Are Now Officially Mandatory Until May 2021 In Kitchener-Waterloo
They're laying down the law.
It looks like masks will be a part of daily life for some Ontario residents for a while yet.
Kitchener-Waterloo's mask policy was just extended until next spring in a unanimous vote by the region's city councillors.
The original bylaw went into effect on July 13, meaning that mandated masks will be in effect in the region just short of a full calendar year.

The bylaw does have exceptions, though.
Children under five years old, residents with medical conditions, and those with exceptional circumstances can be exempt without medical proof, according to CTV News.
The council will produce a report on the progress of the bylaw in January 2021.
The bylaw extension will come into effect on September 28.
