A few kilometres later, the young man came to a stop.\n\n\nMarc Tessier\n\n\nThe boy is 12 years old, according to Catherine Bernard, a representative from la Sûreté.*\nIt was reported that the boy was planning on visiting his dad in Gatineau, about 100 kilometres away from where he lived in Gracefield. \nOfficers were forced to start a police chase in an attempt to stop the vehicle. \nMarc Tessier, a spokesperson of the Sûreté du Québec, told 98.5 FM that a carpet of nails had to be laid down on the road to safely retrieve the boy. \nThe vehicle was eventually stopped in the Wakefield area. \nHowever, despite the situation, Tessier states that this was not a high-speed chase and no collisions were reported. \nAccording to 104.1 ÉNERGIE, no criminal charges will be laid against the boy and the Director of Youth Protection will take care of the case. \nEditor's Note: An earlier version of this article misstated the Montreal boy's age.
