Popular Japanese fashion store, UNIQLO, is finally coming to Quebec next year, as the retailer has announced plans to open their flagship store in Montreal. Having made their Canadian debut in Toronto and Vancouver, UNIQLO has now confirmed this will be the first of several stores in the Quebec province, as they eventually aim to open as many as 100 stores across Canada.

While UNIQLO’s move to Montreal has been on the cards for a couple of weeks now, this is the first time that the company has given a date for their new project, intending to have the store up-and-running by the end of 2020.

With an approximate date now on the horizon, UNIQLO fans in Montreal and Quebec can finally get excited, as the huge, multi-level space will carry menswear, womenswear, and kidswear, as well as an assortment of  the brand’s most popular clothing lines.

Based in Montreal's Eaton Centre, this will be the fourth major Canadian market that the brand has invested in, after previously opening stores in Toronto, Vancouver and, as of September 2019, Alberta too!

Yuichiro Kaneko, Chief Operating Officer of UNIQLO Canada, said the brand was excited to be branching out into Quebec, and was looking forward to “offering our premium, affordable, and carefully designed LifeWear apparel to Montrealers and Quebecers.”

The Japanese brand has become increasingly popular with Canadians in recent years, thanks to their high-fashion collaborations and high-quality materials.

While their products are often considered to be better quality than other ‘fast fashion’ retailers, and their designs are contemporary and fashionable, their prices are competitive, and are largely considered to be reasonable!

Fortunately for Canadians outside of the major cities, who don’t have a UNIQLO store close by, the fashion brand also has a pretty good Canada-wide website, which you can browse around by clicking here.

For those lucky enough to live close to a UNIQLO location, they currently have 13 stores in Canada, seven (and soon eight) of which are in the GTA and four of which are in Vancouver's suburbs. There is also now a store in Edmonton!

According to Retail Insider, UNIQLO has concrete plans to open several more stores in the metropolitan Montreal area in the somewhat near future, as well as intentions to expand into other areas nearby, such as Quebec City.

If you just can't wait until the end of 2020 to get your hands on some UNIQLO goodies, or you want to take a look at what could be coming to a store near you, you can shop the full Canadian collection here!

Until then, a trip to Toronto it is!
