Canada was among 15 nations that made the list in a study by sporting goods company Reebok. Analyzing how often terms like “Body Confidence” and “Plus Size” appeared in Google searches and in the news, Reebok ranked Canada fifth out of just 15 countries. The U.K., however, ranked first, with the U.S. following close behind in second. In Canada, there were 1,607 examples of body-positive news articles in the past year, as well as 33,430 body-positive monthly searches online, according to the report. Additionally, the research showed that body awareness and acceptance online has seen a rise over the last 10 years. "With over 14.5 million posts promoting the ‘body positive’ hashtag on Instagram today, more and more brands are joining the social movement in order to become more inclusive," the report explained.
