Parts Of Ontario Are Going To Be Slammed With Freezing Rain & Ice Pellets This Week
Spring isn't here just yet.
It looks as though Ontario winter weather could be making a comeback this week. While residents enjoyed an early taste of spring this weekend due to a pattern of , some parts of the province are doomed to be thrust back into messy weather this week. Both freezing rain and ice pellets are forecasted along the Nickle Belt throughout the week.
According to The Weather Network, Monday's weather forecast could be the warmest weather the province has seen in 2020. Daytime temperatures in Toronto are expected to reach as high as 14 C. However, a small drop in temperature and rain is likely to set in overnight.
Northern Ontario, on the other hand, is in for a soggy Monday with overnight temperatures expected to bring a "period of freezing rain" by Tuesday morning.
As if that wasn't bad enough, ice pellets are also predicted to hit some areas, just in case anyone forgot that it was still winter in Ontario.
It's going to be a mix of weather this week, depending on where you live in the province.
If you're down south, you have a good chance of enjoying spring-like weather until Wednesday when temperatures will plunge back down. Although, thankfully, daytime highs are going to hold above the freezing mark.
"There's the potential for some snow showers late in the day and into Wednesday night," says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.
"Temperatures will be near seasonal or a few degrees colder than seasonal for the weekend with fair weather expected across southern Ontario," Gillham added. "However, it looks like the following week -- March Break for many -- will bring several days of rather mild weather."
It is always good to make sure to check the weather forecast daily, especially in March, when the weather is often unpredictable.
Last week, warned that Toronto could get up to 10 centimetres of snow ahead of weekend temperatures that were predicted to float around double-digit highs. So, keep an eye out for more of that wackiness!
Luckily, spring is on its way. While the spring weather forecast is predicting that the season will be wetter than normal, it is still expected to be warm.
