Dr. Tam Says It's Time For Canadians To Buy A Smaller Turkey & Take Thanksgiving Online
Doctor's orders! As Thanksgiving approaches fast, Dr. Theresa Tam has a message for all Canadians.
Get a smaller turkey and take it online.
Canada's Chief Public Health Officer took to Twitter to advise thousands of Canadians that they should try to opt for a smaller turkey this year since they shouldn't be gathering in big groups anyway.
Virtual celebrations are not only safer, there’s also no limit on the guest list!
Dr. Theresa Tam
The Thanksgiving message comes once again, following the high number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in Canada.
As of Thursday, the country recorded 1,800 new.
The Chief Public Health Officer also stressed that “the carefree planning” Canadianswill not fly by this year.
At least not on her watch.
Each region in the country has COVID-19 restrictions in place and they likely will not be lifted for Thanksgiving.
Dr. Tam urges Canadians to adhere to the same principles they had in the beginning and not let their guard down this holiday.
This includes staying two metres apart from loved ones, avoid sharing the same plate of food, regularly washing your hands and, if at all possible, taking the gathering online instead of in person.
