Like many Canadians, Justin Trudeau has had to adapt his day-to-day thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On October 29, he should have attended a formal summit with Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel — two of the European Union's top political leaders.

Instead their meeting took place via video call and Trudeau’s over-the-top enthusiasm is 2020 in a nutshell.

Sharing a photo of his slightly strained-looking smile, the prime minister appeared to be a little bit awkward as he posed for the camera.

The background for the meeting had also been meticulously set up, and multiple Canadian and European Union flags could be seen standing behind him.

He’d dressed up for the occasion, too. While he didn’t actually meet his E.U. counterparts on Thursday afternoon, it’s clear he still made an effort for the occasion.

He could still have his pyjamas on under the desk though, eh?

Don't worry Justin, we've all been there!
