That’s a good feeling! During a press conference on Wednesday, Justin Trudeau was caught totally off guard by a huge round of applause from the reporters and people present.

The prime minister was in Toronto speaking about the government’s new support for Black entrepreneurs and Black-owned businesses.

“This morning I can announce that the government of Canada, in partnership with Canadian banks, is investing nearly $221 million dollars to launch Canada’s first ever Black entrepreneurship program,” he confirmed.

It was a message that was met with loud cheers and applause, a reaction the PM did not seem to be expecting at that moment.

As part of the same conference, Trudeau also spoke about the possibility of a federal election in the fall — an outcome he says his party has “no interest” in.
