The Trudeaus Aren't Trick-Or-Treating This Year & They're Thinking Of Other Fun Activities
The PM's family might do a treasure hunt for candy.
This yearwon't be going out trick-or-treating because of Ontario's recommendations about doing the Halloween activity in Ottawa.
Trudeau was asked during a news conference if he would be taking his kids out to go house to house and get candy.
"My family will not be going trick-or-treating this year," he said.
A friend of mine suggested that maybe we could do an Easter style treasure hunt for candy throughout the house and yard.
The family's decision to not go out and take part in the yearly tradition was made after Ontario's chief medical officer of health officially recommended that people in Toronto, Peel, York and Ottawa.
That's because those areas are considered provincial hot spots and have moved into a modified Stage 2.
However, that doesn't mean Halloween has to be entirely.
"A friend of mine suggested that maybe we could do an Easter style treasure hunt for candy throughout the house and yard," Trudeau said.
He noted that people will have to be creative when figuring out how to make sure the holiday is fun while still following public health guidelines.
So, we might still get photos ofbecause fun spooky activities aren't off the table entirely.
