The provincial government just voted to pass the bill to scrap Ontario's daylight saving time once and for all.

MPP Jeremy Roberts took to Twitter on Wednesday to celebrate the news, calling the practice of daylight saving time "outdated."

However, Ontario will need to get Quebec and New York on board before plans can be put into motion.

"As much as we want to see the time change ended in Ontario, we want to do this in coordination with our neighbours in Quebec and New York, but also Michigan and Manitoba," Jeremy Roberts told Narcity.

The switch to permanent daylight saving would allow for more light in the evening.

One study shows that scrapping the practice could even help combat increased depression rates, reports the Washington Post.

Most importantly, though, you won't have to fidget with your car clock anymore, trying to remember how to change the time.
