Wrap up warm tonight, O-Town! Ottawa’s frost advisory warns that extra-low temperatures are heading for the city tonight. In fact, Monday could be the coldest September 14 in almost 60 years.

On September 14, Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for the National Capital Region, warning that temperatures are expected to drop to freezing during the night.

The coldest September 14 on record in Ottawa

According to Environment Canada's records, if conditions drop below 1.7 C before 12 a.m., Monday will become the coldest September 14 in Ottawa since 1963.

If the temperature is below 2.2 C into Tuesday morning, it will become the coldest September 15 in the city since 1953.

Despite a warm fall forecast on the horizon, this feels like a harsh introduction to the new season in O-Town. Eek!
