This year's Pride Week takes place in Ottawa from August 15 - 21. If you're not familiar with Pride Week, it's where the city comes together to support the LGBTQ+ community and there are several events for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you're a part of the LGBTQ+ community or a supporter, these celebrations that take place during the week are fun for everyone. With events like the Random Ackward Monday comedy show hosted by Gerry Hodges, with part of your cover going to support the community, it shows that this city is determined to make everyone feel welcomed.

There are, of course, more events that speak to the LGBTQ+ community directly. You can attend educational panels, kinky learning events, family friendly BBQs, karaoke nights, and movie nights. There are also lots of rainbow parties to attend this weekend, so raid your closet for the most outspoken, colourful outfit you can find!

And for the biggest celebration for Pride Week, the Pride Parade will be on August 21st from 1 - 4 p.m. This is the part of pride week where the city really comes together and business, organizations and community groups show their support. The parade starts out on Gladstone and Bank, will go up along Kent to Laurier, then pass the beautiful rainbow crosswalks on Bank and Somerset. This is a family friendly event, and everyone is encouraged to come join the celebration.
