Here's The Latest News Regarding The Truck Driver Charged In The Humboldt Broncos Crash
Jaskirat Sidhu was scheduled to be in court today.
On April 6th, 2018 a bus full of hockey players crashed unexpectedly into a semi truck, killing 16 people and injuring 13 more. The bus full of young hockey players was on route to a game when the deadly crash occurred.
For a while, Canadians wondered what would happen in the case. Weeks had gone by without charges or putting someone at fault for what had happened to the Humboldt Broncos.
Finally, after months of waiting, thein relation to the deadly crash. It was on July 6th that the RCMP made this announcement while still stating that they wouldn't release the suspect's name or what he/she was being charged for.
Canadians waited impatiently to find out who was at fault for the crash that killed so many young and innocent children. The entire time that the crash had been in the news, the name of the driver remained secret.
It was only a month ago that we reported that the driver of the semi-truck,with 16 counts of dangerous driving causing death and 13 counts of dangerous driving causing bodily injury.
Sidhu was released on $1000 bail and scheduled to be back in court on August 21st, 2018.
It was reported that Sidhu did not appear in court in Melfort, Saskatchewan as scheduled. His lawyer was reportedly connected by phone. According to CTV News, Sidhu's case has been adjourned until October.
When he was released on bail in July, he was released under the conditions that he would not drive and that he would surrender his passport.
