Not only that, they noticed that they were getting the extra fee every month!\nThe user had a pay and talk plan that other Reddit users have mentioned in the thread has recently changed.\nThe user also mentioned in his post that while Telus claimed he would have gotten an email about the bill when he called the customer service about the issue, that was not the reality. In fact, it was another Redditer, who actually got the email, who provided some clarity after they shared the contents of the email that he should have gotten in the first place.\n@telus embedded via\nThe email noted that the extra $10 a month charge would apply to Telus customers who were under the 2 or 1-year plan and were now on a month to month contract. The only way to get the charge to go away would be to sign up for another contract.\nWhile some users have been upset with the change, it has been noted by another user that "[your previous contract] is not a guarantee. In fact, in most contracts, there's usually an agreement in your original contract that [companies] can change [your plan] without notice.
