This Is What You Need To Know If You Plan On Using Canada Post While Workers Are On Strike
Workers will be on rotating strike as of Monday, October 22nd.

In a country full of mail order weed services, subscription boxes, and of course, online shopping, getting packages in the mail has become a daily routine for many Canadians.
Not only is there something satisfying about getting mail delivered right to your doorstep, but many of us have also started relying on delivery services for day to day needs, like meals and groceries. That's why the looming Canada Post strike has Canadians worried about what they should expect come Monday.
According to City News Toronto, the strike will commence at rotating times on Monday, October 22nd leading 50,000 workers off the job. The union has until the early hours of the morning to reach a deal with the mail service.
The strike is the result of ongoing negotiations regarding workers rights at Canada Post. The president of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, also known as CUPW, Mike Palecek, told City News that Canada post refused to talk about important issues that matter to workers, including overtime, job security, and safety measures.
So what does that mean for Canadians who are expecting important mail this upcoming week? While the strike will be commencing at 12:01 AM on Monday morning in Victoria BC, Edmonton Alberta, and Windsor Ontario. The Nova Scotia city of Halifax will also be on strike as of 1:01 AM, just one hour later.
City News has reported that while the strikes will delay postage it won't halt mail delivery completely. That means if you were quick to try one of Canada's new online cannabis shops your weed should be delivered sooner than later.
While the strike is looming close to the deadline the Canada Post has confirmed that they do have an offer on the table that involves wage increases, job security, plus improved benefits from before.
Strike or no strike, it seems like Canada Post will still be committed to getting your mail and online shopping delivered to you no matter where you're located in the country.
