2 People Are In Custody After Trying To Make A Wild Getaway From Police After A Shooting Last Night
Another Toronto shooting ends in a crazy attempt to escape police.
Another day another shooting in the City of Toronto. There have been over 200 of them this year alone according to police.
Last night another shooting happened in the city, pushing the total number to almost 220 overall for the year.
Police arrested 2 people they say are responsible, but not before they tried to make a speedy getaway from the law.
Police were called to the Annex area around 10 p.m. last night after 2 or 3 gunshots were heard.
Police found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital but is expected to survive the incident.
After the shooting, the suspects then tried to flee the scene in a red Volvo, but crashed into a pedestrian.

After hitting the pedestrian they continued to attempt to flee in the car but then crashed into a tree.
They then ditched the getaway vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Police found what they believe to be the gun used in the shooting in the car.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is expected to survive.
Police arrested a man about a half-hour after the incident and a woman earlier this morning.
Not the best getaway plan.
