A Hate-Filled Newspaper Is Recirculating In Toronto Despite Being Permanently Banned
Toronto-based publication Your Ward News still lands on Toronto doorsteps despite its permanent publication ban.
Considering its explicit propagation of hate speech against every marginalized population residing within the city's borders, describing the Toronto-based publication Your Ward News as "hate-filled" and "discriminatory" is an understatement, to say the least. The widely-condemned newspaper was permanently banned from distribution through Canada Post at the end of 2018 after a nearly three-year saga of complaints and public hearings.
A final order was delivered to prohibit the publishers (or any agent or company publishing Your Ward News under a different name) from distributing the newspaper through the mail.
Yet somehow, Your Ward News has once again made its way upon the doorsteps of Toronto's Upper Beaches community. Seemingly, most residents are less than thrilled to see the resurgence of what they call the quarterly-distributed "vicious and vile propaganda", with many copies of the paper performing a seamless nosedive from the residents' front steps to the recycling bin, paper unopened and eyes unscathed.
BREAKING: A Toronto judge has found the editor and publisher of the publication 'Your Ward News' guilty of promoting hatred against Jewish people and women. James Sears and LeRoy St. Germaine argued they were using satire, but the judge did not agree. https://t.co/t6SIMzJVNi— CBC News Alerts (@CBCAlerts) January 24, 2019
Your Ward News' written content has historically targeted visible minorities, Jews, women, and the LGBTQ community through the dissemination of hate speech.
The publication markets itself as the "world's largest anti-Marxist publication." Both its editor and publisher, James Sears and Leroy St. Germaine, were arrested and faced charges of wilfully promoting hatred. Sears - the self-proclaimed "expert in seduction skills" had his medical license revoked after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his patients.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, CBC News reported that the charge of wilful promotion of hatred against women was the first to be laid in Ontario's history.
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs told CBC News, "Your Ward News promotes disgusting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, misogyny, homophobia, and racism. Our taxpayer-funded mail service should not be used to distribute such hateful content to hundreds of thousands of households...It is shocking that such vile messages are being peddled here in Canada in 2018. Just think about a Holocaust Survivor picking up their mail only to find neo-Nazi propaganda on their doorstep. This is totally unacceptable."
But, Sears isn't giving up so easily. In an editorial piece featured on the newspaper's website, Sears promised to continue printing and delivering 305,000 copies using "private companies" and a "volunteer army".
He also vowed to reinstate his "Toronto Real Men" monthly meetings, where he personally coached men in the secrets of masculinity and how to "seduce" women. He also wrote that he intends to establish a "clubhouse" for his "Hitler Fan Club".
The Upper Beaches Toronto Community Facebook Group largely continues to criticize the local distribution of Your Ward News, especially since the community had been under the impression that the publication was no longer permitted to be circulated.
Some members of the community, however, completely lacked awareness of the publication's hate-filled origins and purpose:
