A Teenager Was Just Charged For A Shooting In Whitby
What is going on with our Toronto teens?

It’s beginning to seem that the level of violence is going up around the GTA this year and that no one really understands why this is happening.
Last Friday another act of gun violence occurred in Whitby when there was a shooting at a high-rise complex leaving one man suffering from gunshot wounds.
This weekend police arrested a teenager for the incident.

A 17-year-old male from Pickering has been charged a dozen different things including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and point firearm.
Police say that the teen was arrested without incident on Saturday and is believed to be the lone shooter in the incident.
The 24-year-old victim, in this case, survived the shooting after being flown by air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre in serious condition.

His condition has since been updated to stable.
What’s remarkable is that this isn’t the first arrest of a teenager in the past week for a violent crime.
On Friday of last week, a 13-year-old in Toronto was arrested and charged in connection with a murder investigation. Making this the second time in less than a week that two minors have been arrested in relation to violent crimes.
While police say that the 17-year-old is the only shooter in this case they are urging anyone with any information about the matter to contact them at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1825 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
