An Injured Toronto Man Walked Himself To The Hospital After An Early Morning Shooting In North York
Police arrived to the scene of a shooting at Finch Avenue and Bayview Avenue early this morning, but no victim was in sight.
Toronto Police are investigating a shooting in North York shortly after 3:00 AM this morning. Police were called to Winlock Park near Bayview Avenue and Finch Avenue East, after receiving reports of gunshots.
When police arrived, they reportedly discovered empty casings, bullet holes and blood stains at the scene. But, no victim was in sight.
The injured victim, a male of an unknown age, allegedly walked himself to a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds. Police say that his injuries are non-life threatening.
Police remain on Winlock Park where the shooting allegedly took place. The area will remain shut down until a thorough investigation is complete.
At around 4:45 AM, parademics were called to load the victim into an ambulance and transport him to a trauma centre. According to CBC, police escorted paramedics to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Police have yet to comment on the extent of his injuries.
Police will likely provide an update on the shooting and in the coming hours.
