York Regional Police are currently investigating an Aurora house fire that occurred overnight on Friday in the GTA town. The fire has since been put out, but police are stating that it is being deemed as suspicious after a body was discovered inside the residence. Anyone who may have seen anything in this area on Friday night or Saturday morning is asked to contact police.\nEarly Saturday morning, York Regional Police confirmed that a house fire had occurred on Edward Street throughout the night. While police have yet to release much detail on the incident, they state that the fire is suspicious, meaning arson may be to blame.\nCurrently, homicide investigators are leading the investigation after a body was discovered in the house after the fire. So far, no age of sex has been released about the victim, but CP24 reports that it is believed to be an adult.\nAccording to City News, first responders were called to the house on Edward Street around 1 AM. By the time that firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was already fully engulfed in flames.\nThe Forensic Identification Unit, along with Homicide investigators are at the scene of a suspicious house fire on Edward Street in Aurora. Since then, police have been able to enter the residence and investigate the death that is currently being deemed suspicious.\nAt the moment, Edward Street is remaining closed at Harrison Avenue as the investigation continues by homicide detectives.
