The city of Mississauga will be celebrating the major accomplishments of its star citizen, 19-year-old tennis champion Bianca Andreescu, today on Sept. 15 with a rally in her honor in Celebration Square. While plenty of people are expected to attend, there will be at least one very special guest. Justin Trudeau is expected to attend the Bianca Andreescu She The North rally.

According to a press release from the Liberal Party, Justin Trudeau's schedule for Sept. 15 will see the Prime Minister starting his day with visits to local businesses in Cobourg, Ontario, before arriving at the She The North Rally at 5 p.m. There, he is expected to deliver remarks to the gathered crowd. He will then move on to Markham to deliver remarks and appear with Liberal candidate Alan Ho at the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Justin Trudeau has already expressed congratulations and admiration for the young tennis star on his Twitter, writing after her victory at the U.S. Open, "You’ve made history and made a whole country very proud."

The She The North rally will not only celebrate Andreescu's incredibly impressive and historic victory at the U.S. Open. She will also receive the key to the city from Mississauga mayor Bonnie Crombie.

A street will also be named in her honour (the new street name will be Andreescu Way, but the street receiving the name change has yet to be determined). Mayor Crombie noted that Andreescu "has a nice ring to it," on her Twitter.

Bianca Andreescu made history at this year's U.S. Open when she became the first Canadian ever to win a Grand Slam singles title. She received accolades from a number of prominent Canadians after her victory. However, no other celebrity appearances have been announced as part of the event.

The She The North Rally will be taking place in Mississauga's Celebration Square beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15. The rally is a free event and will be hosted by Selena Singh and Mariah Sousa-Sampson.
