Fast food lovers, rejoice! The time has come for Chick-fil-A to launch its second Toronto location. The Chick-fil-A Yorkdale Mall branch is finally opening up on Tuesday, Jan. 7 after its first store had arrived back in September. The Yorkdale location will be ready to serve guests this coming Tuesday, January 7, from 10 a.m. The second store is part of the commitment that the chain has made to open 15 locations in the next five years here in Ontario. As with its company-wide policy, the store will be closed on Sundays. You should expect to see the same range of Chick-fil-A staples and new Canadian menu additions as are on offer at the inaugural location at Bloor and Yonge. Back in November, Chick-fil-A already had job postings up for the second location even before any official word was out as to when it was going to open. The statement says more than 70 "local part-time and full-time" team members have been hired as staff. The grand opening of the first restaurant saw both anger and enthusiasm. While some customers camped out all night to be the first in line, strong protests were also held outside. View this post on Instagram It’s happening, Toronto! We’re excited to announce Chick-fil-A® Yorkdale Mall will open on January 7 at 10 a.m. located at Dine on 3. We can’t wait to serve you! A post shared by Chick-fil-A Canada (@chickfilacanada) on Jan 3, 2020 at 9:00am PST The protests were launched against the chain's alleged history of supporting groups that have been accused of being anti-LGBTQ+. However, back in November, Chick-fil-A announced it would be revising its charitable contributions in the face of criticism, increasingly focusing on supporting the areas of hunger, education, and homelessness. The company president and COO Tim Tassopoulos said they would no longer be supporting The Salvation Army, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and other groups they've helped previously. And despite the animosity towards the chain from some corners, it seems there are plenty of people excited for its Yorkdale debut. Chick Fil a opening at Yorkdale next week.
