The news that fans hoped would never come just got announced by Fan Expo Canada. The dreaded, but expected last-minute cancellations. To add insult to injury, some of the most anticipated guests cancelled just a day before the expo.\nSo, who’d we lose this time? Chewbacca’s stunt double? I’m afraid not. Unfortunately, we lost the Assistant to the Regional Manager himself, Rainn Wilson, as well as Pamela Anderson.\nMike Colter, who plays Luke Cage in Marvel’s Netflix series, and Battlestar Galactica’s Mary McDonnell also cancelled their appearances at the event, citing “professional commitments.”\n“Okay fam, this is a rough one, but it’s best to rip the band-aid off. Rainn Wilson, Mike Colter, Pamela Anderson, and Mary McDonnell will be unable to attend FAN EXPO Canada due to professional commitments,” read a statement by Fan Expo.\nOf course, fans were disappointed by the news — or, perhaps furious is a more appropriate word:\nDon't call us "Fam", it's very tacky and disingenuous. It implies a certain level of respect and understanding of each other. This year you, 'FAN' Expo, have shown us 'FANS' neither of those things. The mgmt of this year's Expo has been a terribly unfunny joke. #FXC19— Eric Lesperance (@E_Lesperance) August 20, 2019\nouf. I know it's always a risk for cancellations but....that's quite a number of them.— Maddy Eisenberg (@maddyeisenberg) August 20, 2019\nWTF.. I literally waited until 3 hours ago to book everything think it had to be safe and now I've got a bunch of no refundable shit I can't use.— mike vokey (@mikevokey1) August 20, 2019\nI have been so so understanding up until this point. This is going to be my first ever fan expo and i am already so incredibly upset and disappointed. Get your shit together— Hannah❤️🏳️🌈 @FanExpo (@Catisnotonfire0) August 20, 2019\nProfessional commitments, this is a professional commitment. Aren’t they paid to attend? It not like Pamela Anderson has anything to do. As for the other ones not sure who they are. Thank god I didn’t buy tickets this year— Poppy Gibson (@PoppyGibson1) August 21, 2019\nOuch. Replacing guests I haven't seen before with guests that I have is hardly consolation!!— Just Colin (@ColinHollis2) August 21, 2019\nARE YOU KIDDDING?!!!!!!!— Em (@e_pave95) August 20, 2019\nThis years fanexpo is going to be garbaaaaaage. What an anniversary!— Lindsay M (@LindsayMeldrum1) August 20, 2019\nThis is a frigging disaster (for fans).— Jason Gilmore ➡️ Fan Expo 🇨🇦 (@geemo_Jaysfan) August 20, 2019\nThat's pretty shitty for a 25th anniversary @FANEXPOCANADA . Too many cancellations.— nntmh (@NNTMH) August 21, 2019\nWow. All my family's photo ops have now cancelled. I guess this is why there aren't any refunds on passes.— Geoff Trueman 🇨🇦 (@trueman832) August 20, 2019\nWow did it last year and doing this shit again just wow— Amanda (@Amanda79247029) August 20, 2019\nExpo organizers were quick to reassure fans that anyone who purchased a Photo Op with the stars would receive a refund or exchange options. The event staff also told fans to “stay tuned” as they prepare to announce a pair of sci-fi and anti-superhero guests, which will be coming “very, very soon.”\nIf you purchased a Photo Op with any of them, Epic Photo Ops will be in touch with your refund/exchange options. Stay tuned, because we have a pair of sci-fi and one anti-superhero guest additions coming very very soon.— FANEXPO Canada (@FANEXPOCANADA) August 20, 2019\nIt’s always a total bummer when you plan your summer around something only to have it ruined at the last minute. Let's hope that the guest stars taking their place are just as big of a deal!
