Free 3-Day Pirate Festival Happening Near Toronto This July
Start practicing your pirate voice.
Ready your yo ho ho's and plank walking skills, because the 1000 Islands Pirate Days festival is back again this year for another 3 days of pirate-filled fun in Gananoque, from July 10-12. As someone who's seen Pirates of the Caribbean countless times, I've got to say I'm pretty excited.
All pirate enthusiasts can watch the pirate parade, try your hand at the best costume contest and even dine with Captain Jack Sparrow himself. There's a family friendly waterfront breakfast on Saturday, but if you want to see if you can hold your rum better than the Captain, there's a 19+ dinner that evening.
On top of that, there's also going to be tarot card readers, wood carvers, a blacksmith, potters, a tall ship manned with pirates, cannons, and guns. And if that's not enough, there's a kids zone (which does cost extra), a giant water slide and a waterfront main stage with live music. You definitely won't run out of things to do.
