A Miniature Horse Was Actually Spotted Riding The GO Train This Morning (PHOTOS)
He's an ambassador for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
GO train passengers got a cute surprise on their morning commute today. A miniature horse showed up on board a train that was headed to Union Station, and he definitely managed to wake everyone up from the Monday morning slump. The GO train visitor's name is Lil' Ben, and he is an official 2019 ambassador for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF), which has a partnership with Metrolinx.
While some commuters were heading off to work, it seems as if Lil' Ben was also heading into the city of Toronto for a day of work. Hopping onto the 10:28 a.m. GO Train, he was able to travel with several other commuters, who were definitely surprised to spot the four-legged friend.
On his way to an event at City Hall, Lil' Ben stole the show, as many took to twitter both confused and surprised by his appearance. After all, it's not every day that you see a horse on your morning commute.
While Lil' Ben may look like a baby, he is actually 21 years old, and weighs around 181 kilos, according to Metrolinx and he's the official 2019 ambassador for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
RAWF and Metrolinx have had a partnership for seven years now, according to their blog. The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and equestrian competition in the world, according to GO Transit.
The fair will be happening at the Exhibition Place from November 1 until November 10. They have all sorts of attractions and entertainment available, as well as plenty of food and drink competitions. Around 300,000 people show up every year to this event that has been taking place in Toronto since 1922.
