An Ontario Man Was Charged After Drunkenly Attacking Somebody With A Baseball
The victim was just practicing his swing.
One Ontario man is facing charges after drunkenly throwing a baseball at a park-goer. A Kingston police investigation has resulted in the 45-year old being charged with assault with a weapon.
According to a news release, the incident occurred after the accused approached a man hitting balls off a tee in an east-end park.
The accused then picked up a ball and, from a close distance, threw it at the victim, striking him on his leg.
The victim at first thought hiswas doing him a favour, retrieving balls and throwing them back into the infield. However, things quickly got heated.
The accused reportedly becameand ended up throwing one of the balls towards the man.
Police were able to locate the man's attacker after a brief search of the area.
When approached officers noticed a "strong odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and the accused appeared to be intoxicated."
The suspect was transported back to police headquarters. He has since been released and is expected to appear in court.
