Glorious, sunny weather has come upon us at last! The snow has all melted, the temperatures are no longer in the negatives, and we can actually enjoy walking on the street. It's not quite warm enough for patio drinks yet, but there are other ways to celebrate...
Grab yo' fluffiest pillows and head on down to Nathan Phillips Square this Saturday, April 4th at 3pm for the biggest pillow fight you ever have and ever will take part in – Pillow Fight Toronto 2015, hosted by Newmindspace. Toronto is just one of the many cities participating in this global event, as part of the urban playground movement.
Just over 18,000 people have joined the 2015 Pillow Fight, in comparison to only 1,000 people who joined the 2014 event. Kevin Bracken, co-founder of Newmindspace, said this was the largest pillow fight in Toronto ever by at least 4 times when there were only 10,000 people attending. It's probably closer to 8 times now – insanity!
What better way to celebrate the beginning of spring than the annual Pillow Fight Toronto? It's free, it's fun, and you get to whack people with pillows. Fluff away, friends!
Here are the rules, according to the event page:
- Soft, feather-free pillows only!
- Swing lightly, many people will be swinging at once.
- Do not swing at people without pillows or with cameras.
- Remove glasses beforehand!
- Deposit pillows in donation boxes or take them with you.
- Pajamas welcome.
