Now that we are three weeks into the lockdown, businesses and residents should be well aware of the restrictions in place to protect the health and safety of our community.

Mayor Bonnie Crombie

“Our enforcement staff are working to enforce these measures, to help keep people safe and reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community," Mayor Bonnie Crombie stated.

Four tickets were also issued to non-essential businesses for remaining open despite restrictions.

If a summons is issued along with the fine, a failure to comply could result in a maximum fine of $100,000.

The city has issued 126 charges and 90 notices of contravention since entering into lockdown on November 23, 2020.

During the lockdown, no private social gatherings are permitted, unless you live in the same household.
