Things got a little messy this Tuesday after an Ontario highway fire was reported.

In classic 2020 fashion, Toronto firefighters were forced into a very stinky situation after a truck full of garbage was engulfed in flames on Highway 427.

Crews reportedly arrived on the scene Tuesday morning to extinguish the mess that was ruining everyone's morning commute.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames with the help of a ladder and tons of water.

However, that didn't stop smoke from billowing onto the highway and temporarily causing dangerous driving conditions.

The OPP's Highway Division was also on scene to report on the smelly mess.

OPP report that collector lanes were closed on the 427 at Burnhamthorpe as forces worked to clean up the trash.
