According to CTV News Toronto, the announcement may come today during Premier Ford's daily briefing.
If the new restrictions were to go into effect, the outlet reports that places like restaurants, bars, and nightclubs in Toronto, Peel, and Ottawa would see capacity restrictions of six people per table.
These places would also be required to collect contact information for every customer, rather than just one per group.
Group fitness classes and banquet hall gatherings would also be impacted.
Doug Ford's cabinet will also reportedly be discussing athat would require residents to wear a face-covering in all indoor settings, including workplaces.
The decision is expected to be made during the cabinet meeting this morning, CTV says.
