Ontario's Daily COVID-19 Case Count Is The Highest It's Been Since July
Active cases are just above 1,100.
Ontario's new COVID-19 cases took a jump today to the highest number they've been in over a month.
The number of new cases on August 28 was 148, the most it has been for any day in the entire month of August, and also since July 24, when 195 new cases were being reported.
New COVID-19 cases in Ontario
According to a tweet from Minister of Health Christine Elliott, this marks a 0.4% increase from the previous day. She also noted that 27 out of 34 public health units were reporting fewer than five new cases, with 18 of those reporting none at all.
Within the last 24 hours, more than 32,100 tests were completed across Ontario, bringing the overall total to 2,916,275, according to the province's COVID-19 case summary.
The current active case count for the province stands at 1,103, according to the latest data from the Canadian epidemiological summary.
