Ontario's New COVID-19 Cases Spike Above 800 Today
With nearly 330 of them in Toronto alone.
The province is facing yet another uptick in COVID-19 infections today.
is reporting 821 new cases — a significant rise from yesterday's 704.
The news came from Health Minister Christine Elliott, who releases the numbers on Twitter every day.
New cases of COVID-19 in Ontario
Of the new cases, there are 327 in Toronto, 136 in Peel, 64 in York Region, and 79 in Ottawa.
These numbers come from 24,000 processed tests, which is a significantly lower amount than the province has seen in recent weeks.
Premier Doug Ford has reacted to Ontario's second wave by imposingon Toronto, Peel, Ottawa, and York.
Indoor dining in bars and restaurants, gyms, theatres, and indoor fitness classes have been paused in these areas.
To date, Ontario has recorded 65,896 cases of the novel coronavirus.
