It looks like Ontario's downward trend came to a small halt. Ontario's new COVID-19 cases saw a slight uptick on Monday after a week of low numbers.

The province's new case numbers floated below the triple-digit mark every day last week.

However, on Monday, the number rose to 115 new cases.

Despite the unexpected increase, Health Minister Christine Elliott cautioned residents not to be too concerned.

"While a slight uptick and an end to our streak, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that thanks to your efforts, the trend in the province remains downward," Elliott said.

The entirety of Ontario is expected to enter stage 3 on Wednesday, as Windsor-Essex was finally granted permission to proceed.
