With summer finally here, it means summer festivals and events are finally underway throughout the city of Toronto. However, with summer events come roads closures, and this weekend there are quite a few of them. The city of Toronto will be facing multiple road and subway closures throughout the weekend, and it's sure to cause quite the commuting nightmare.

Whether you rely on the TTC or a car as your main form of transportation around the city, you'll probably run into some form of closure this weekend. The TTC is closing down a big part of line 1 this weekend as they work on system upgrades.

Today, service on Line 1 from Lawerence to Bloor-Younge station will be closed. Commuters will have to rely on shuttle buses to get them to their destinations if they are planning on doing any TTC traveling today. Thankfully, there will be staff on hand to help you figure out where you need to go during these closures.

On Sunday, service on Line 1 from St. Clair to Union station will be closed for the entire day due to the installation of the new 'Automatic Train Control signaling system'. Shuttle buses will be running, but you can expect the commute to take longer than normal.

If you are planning on driving or taking an Uber anywhere this weekend, make sure to also check out the road closures that will be put in place this weekend. Some awesome events are happening this weekend, which many of you may want to check out, but getting to these locations may be difficult.

Desifest is taking place today and will be shutting down Dundas Square between Yonge Street and O'Keefe Lane. This road will be closed from 8 AM until midnight.

The Grilled Cheese Challenge will also be shutting down some major roads today. Lake Shore Boulevard West between Islington Avenue to Third Street will be completely closed from 6 AM to midnight.

On Sunday, the World Partnership Walk will be taking place which will include a variety of rolling closures throughout King Street, University Ave, and Simcoe Street from 10 AM until 2:45 PM.

Toronto Challenge is another event that will be closing University Avenue between Adelaide Street and College Street, as well as Queen's Park until 11 AM.

You can view the full list of city closures this weekend on the City of Toronto website.
