Rogers is launching a new program where they will deliver a cellphone to a location of your choice and set it up for you upon arrival. The Rogers delivery service is set to be in motion by the end of October, and will first be tested out in the GTA before expanding further. The service is called Rogers Pro On-The-Go, and will require no additional cost. A customer will be able to specify a date, time, and location that is most convenient for them, and the cellphone will be shipped over with a Rogers employee, who will then help set it up based on the customer's preferences. This is an initiative that Rogers has taken in response to the on-demand evolution of the economy and the decline of brick and mortar-reliant businesses. "We know how valuable our customers’ time is and getting to a store is not always convenient or easy," says Brent Johnston, President of Wireless at Rogers in a news release. Enjoy is based in California and works with other major cellphone providers in the States and in the UK.\n“We are so excited to partner with Rogers, and to bring this proven formula to Canadians,” says Ron Johnson, CEO of Enjoy in the news release. “We provide a top-notch personalized experience right in the customer’s home or office. Our Experts deliver the best experiences and are impeccably trained, kind people.”Johnson is the former head of retail for Apple who was tabbed by Steve Jobs with making his Apple Store concept a reality, CBC reports.\nRogers is recognizing the changing consumer demands in the world of online shopping, where less people are going to the store to shop. They have decided to adapt to this, and GTA will be the testing grounds to see how well the project fares.
