The Royal Ontario Museum Has Free Admission Every 3rd Tuesday This Winter
You can see some dinosaurs for free!
Do you love going to the Royal Ontario Museum, but hate spending money? Well, good news, because the Canadian museum is offering Torontonians a chance to explore its vast collection for free, and all you have to do is keep your Tuesday nights open.
In order to help Ontarians celebrate art and history, the ROM is offering free admission into their museum on the third Tuesday of every month.
“Bring family and friends to the ROM on the 3rd Tuesday Night of each month and enjoy free admission from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm with complimentary access and extended hours, visitors are invited to explore art, culture, and nature in the Museum’s 30 permanent galleries,” a statement on the company's website reads.
The museum first launched its Free Nights initiative back in April of 2019. However, it was initially the third Monday of every month as opposed to Tuesday. The switch was made back in November, but it’s uncertain what the exact reasoning was behind the decision.
The ROM recently opened up, an immersive new exhibit that celebrates the beloved children’s book.
The latest addition features interactive activities and larger-than-life environments for kids as well as adults to explore and experience the magical world created by A.A. Milne.
The exhibit runs from March 7, 2020, to August 3, 2020.
However, it is worth noting that feature exhibitions are specially ticketed and are not included with free admission.
Feature exhibition tickets must be purchased onsite during the 3rd Tuesday Nights Free events.
So, if you’re only going to the museum to explore its more exclusive exhibits, you’ll still have to pay to get in.
Also, when arriving for free nights, be sure to use the Bloor St. entrance to the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal as the Weston Queen’s Park entrance will be closed.
Entry is based on capacity, so be sure to get to the museum early if you want a spot.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month.
The ROM is also known for hostingparties throughout the year, turning the museum into a club for the night.
