In case your faith in humanity has suffered in recent
weeks, months, years, this video making waves around the internet may restore it a little bit, at least in the people of Toronto.
This incredible video produced by Canadian Muslim Assma Galuta, with the help of Time Vision, shows fellow Canadian Muslim, Mustafa Mawla, blindfolded in the heart of downtown Toronto, Yonge-Dundas Square. Mawla has two white signs on either side of him reading "I am a Muslim. I am labelled as a terrorist," and "I trust you. Do you trust me? Give me a hug" The result is 2:57 of pure feeling.
While a large number of people rush by, caught up in their daily endeavors, a number of strangers lean in to give Mawla a hug and show their support, with one man even ditching his car at the busy intersection. The world can be a cruel and harsh place but this is a heartwarming example of beautiful compassion and you can't help but fall in love with this city and its people all over again when you watch it.
