Toronto is having its vegan moment. Vegan bakeries, diners, breakfast spots, brunch spots - you name it, it's probably here.

The herbivore way of eating is growing as fast as demand can keep up, and we're all welcoming it with open arms.

One thing that the vegan community is lacking, though, is palatable vegan comfort food. With only a handful of vegan joints that sell drool-worthy pizzas, burgers and other delicious junk food, there's only so many places grass grazers can go before they've exhausted all options for McDonald's alternatives.

Luckily for anyone with a palate for greasy, healthy foods, there's going to be a new kid on the block very soon.

The team that brought us Doomie's and Vegan Food and Drink Festival, the 5700 Inc., is is partnering with award-winning chef Doug McNish to bring The 6ix a premium vegan diner, and it's taking a brash, unapologetic stance on veganism.

Mythology Diner is redefining the traditional diner experience by veganizing classic menu items like salisbury steak, fish and chips, cinnamon bun pancakes and root beer floats. No avocado salads here.

Smashing the expectations of the typical greasy spoon, Mythology will also feature local craft brews, wine and specialty handcrafted cocktails developed by their in-house mixologist. And while there have been other vegan diners to crop up in the past, Mythology will be Toronto's only real all vegan diner right now!

Mythology is set to open to the public for dinner as of Friday, December 1st between 5:00pm and 12:00am at 1265 Queen Street West. Those looking for a healthy, greasy lunch can show up starting on December 18th. The diner's highly anticipated brunch service will begin on New Year's.
