A 44-year-old tattoo artist named Kevin Proulx has been charged with sexual assault by York Regional Police. The charges against him were laid by the police's Special Victims Unit after an investigation was launched in early February. On February 9th, one of Proulx's victims reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a tattoo artist on two separate occasions. During both occasions, the victim claims that she was having an image tattooed on her body by the assailant at the time of the assault.\nREAD ALSO: 15-Year Old Toronto Teenager Facing Charges For Sexually Assaulting A Woman On The TTC\nA York Regional Police press release indicated that the assaults occurred when the victim was at a tattoo parlour in Markham in 2016. Proulx worked as a tattoo artist at this location along with numerous other parlours throughout the Greater Toronto Area.\nVia York Regional Police\n@kevinvproulxembedded via\nHis Instagram account - which is currently open to the public - describes Proulx as a tattoo artist at a tattoo parlour on St Clair Ave West. The account also indicates that Proulx "specializes in black and grey realism". Proulx's personal Instagram account has a following of over 8,000 Instagram users. A rep at the tattoo studio has informed Narcity that he is no longer working there.\nAccording to Proulx's Facebook profile- which also remains open to the public - the Montreal-native currently resides in Toronto.\nProulx will not appear in court until March 20th, when he will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.\nREAD ALSO: Ontario Man Convicted Of Murdering And Sexually Assaulting His Baby Gets Released From Prison\nYork Regional Police encourage additional victims or anyone else who may have information that will assist the investigation to come forward. As is with all sexual offences, there is no statute of limitations and offenders can be prosecuted long after the date the assault took place.
