Toronto Reports Highest COVID-19 Cases Ever As City Hits Halfway Point In Lockdown
There are over 600 new cases in Toronto alone today.
It's been two weeks since Toronto and Peel went into lockdown, but
Christine Elliott reported the numbers via Twitter on Monday morning.
According to Christine Elliot, Toronto is reporting 601 new cases of COVID-19 today, while the City of Toronto COVID-19 portal is recording 609 new cases.
Either way, it's an all-time high for the city.
Additionally, Peel Region is reporting 512 cases, although not in lockdown, and York is reporting 167.
Positive results stemming fromcan be expected to reflect after one full incubation period or 14 days.
This means that any new case numbers reported from today on will be reflecting the efforts of the regional lockdowns.
So far, the provincial 7-day average of new cases per day has only increased over the past two weeks.
To date, the province has seen 129,234 cases of COVID-19.
