Fans flocked to Budweiser Stage in Toronto this week for what they hoped would be a whole lot of nostalgia from Lauryn Hill's 20th-anniversary tour. What they got instead was disappointment and hours of waiting.

Lauryn is an American rapper, singer, and record producer who was big in the 1990s. Her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was critically acclaimed for delivering neo-soul to the world, but that is not what fans got in Toronto.

The concert started at least 45 minutes later than it was supposed to, meaning fans who got there early were waiting for well over an hour. They took to Twitter to share how they feel about it, and these people are pissed.

On top of a major delay, fans say Lauryn performed sped up, and sometimes incomprehensible versions of her songs, further adding to every body's disappointment.

One reason for this may be that it's been rumoured Lauryn Hill doesn't actually own the rights to her songs and therefore has to perform altered versions of them.

Whether or not that is true is still up for debate, but the fact that concert started one hour later than it should have is not and, probably because of the sped up songs and late start, it was shorter than most people expected.

According to fans on Twitter, the concert itself ended up being only 45 minutes, which is the same amount of time if not shorter than what they had spent waiting for Lauryn.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Lauryn has a bit of a reputation for being super late to her concerts and not performing her songs the way people are used to which is why a lot of her fans have given up on seeing her perform live.

The concert was part of Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 20th-Anniversary tour.
