Toronto Man Has Been Sexually Assaulting Women In TTC Subways, Warns Police
All incidents have occurred on line one.
Toronto Police Services have just released a sexual assault alert for the city of Toronto after reports were made of a man who has been sexually assaulting women on the TTC. The man has been reported sexually assaulting women on Line one for the past few years. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Toronto Police report that two incidents have been reported to Police, one of them occurring in 2017 while another happening recently. Police believe that both incidents were committed by the same man and that there may be other victims that have been assaulted during this time period.
Back on March 23, 2017, an 18-year-old woman reported to police that at around 11:25 AM a man sat down next to her on the TTC subway as she was traveling southbound from North York Centre subway station. While she was seated, that man sexually assaulted her.
A second incident was reported to police on May 25, 2019, when a 24-year-old woman stated that around 9:07 AM she was traveling on the TTC line southbound from St. Clair subway station. A man got onto the subway and sat down beside the woman and then proceeded to sexually assault her.
During this incident, the 24-year-old woman described the suspect as tall and between 40 to 50 years of age. He had a shaved head. During both incidents, the women described the man to be wearing a khaki spring coat and carrying a black backpack.
Toronto Police have now released the suspect's photograph and investigators are warning that there may have been other victims.
