Toronto Police Just Took A Big Step In Improving Mental Health In The City

The Toronto Police are launching a new initative in the hopes of improving mental health awareness. According to the Toronto Star, their new app, called the Community Asset Portal, will provide users with a map of mental-health related services that are near them.

The app will also show users how to get to the service from their current location. The goal is to help officers quickly direct a person in crisis to the best service for their situation, according to Ian Williams, manager of business intelligence and analytics for the Toronto Police.

The app is now being prepared for release to all Toronto Police officers.
