The city's biggest shopping centres are about to open up again. Several of Toronto's malls are reopening this Wednesday with new distancing measures in place. Among them are The Eaton Centre, Sherway Gardens, Yorkdale Mall and Fairview Mall. Along with malls, Toronto's bar and restaurant patios, hair salons and markets will be inviting customers back as of June 24. However, shoppers will have to adhere to new social distancing rules required by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Narcity got the details from Cadillac Fairview, which operates Fairview Mall, Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens. The malls will implement "increased cleaning and hygiene practices; physical distancing measures in all areas of the mall; and reviewing procedures for all shopping centre amenities," said CF in an email. Yorkdale Mall will also be opening its doors on June 24, with its own protocols in place. A Yorkdale representative said to Narcity that "increased cleaning frequency in high-touch and high-traffic areas" will be done, along with new signage for customer traffic flow and physical distancing. Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations will be readily available throughout the mall, as well as curbside pickup from stores and restaurants. "Individual stores may open on different dates after June 24th as they continue to reorganize space to ensure appropriate social distancing," said the Yorkdale spokesperson. Ford announced on Monday that Peel Region, which includes Mississauga and Brampton, will also be allowed to reopen as of June 24. Narcity has reached out to Square One for details on their new protocols. The Mississauga mall has confirmed that they too will be reopening on June 24, however, some stores may open at later dates to prepare. Square One will be implementing the same cleaning and social distancing measures as Yorkdale, with sanitizing stations, foot traffic guides and curbside pickup from select retailers.
