You might have a slower commute today if you're travelling on the 401. A transport truck fire on the 401 Wednesday morning has blocked multiple lanes at Brimley Rd. near Kennedy, so leave extra time to go through traffic if you're in the area. Luckily, there were no injuries reported.

First responders were called on Wednesday morning at around 6:45 a.m. to reports of a vehicle on fire in the westbound express lane, according to

Originally, multiple lanes on the 401 westbound express lanes at Brimley Rd. were closed as crews battled the fire.

Firefighters were still putting out the flames at around 7:30 a.m., reports.

When responders arrived, the truck trailer was fully in flames, but the truck itself had somehow separated from the fire.

The smoke from the footage this morning is super heavy and thick. Traffic will be moving much slower than usual, however, crews are working on reopening all lanes as quickly as possible.

According to Newstalk1010 Traffic, the left lanes are reopened and just the right lane remains blocked.

It is unclear if crews have managed to move the ruins of the truck yet, but traffic still remains to be moving slowly.

Commuters driving by the area got some footage of the flames, which seemed to clog up the skies with thick smoke.

It is still unclear when the entirety of the lanes will be open.

The cause of the fire hasn't been revealed yet and the details of what happened are still developing. There were no other vehicles involved in the incident.

However, this isn't the first time the 401 has seen some delays.

Earlier this year, a transport truck ended up spilling rolls of toilet paper onto the highway after it collided with another vehicle.

The mess ended up clogging up the highway as crews worked to clear the debris.
