UPDATE (April 18, 10:00 AM ET): TTC confirms that regular subway service has resumed. There is currently no service on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between St. George and Chester stations due to an injury on the tracks. The TTC issued an announcement that service on this stretch of the subway would be suspended this morning until further notice. In a Twitter post, the TTC also advised riders that shuttle buses would replace the subway service while the situation is responded to and investigated. It's the second major TTC subway delay to happen this week during the morning rush. Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: No service between St George and Chester while we respond to an injury on the tracks. TTC riders have taken to Twitter to air their grievances: I've been on public transit in India and Thailand. TTC is worse than 3rd world!— Jaclyn B (@jaclynb_to) April 18, 2019 F....carbon tax! Going to be late for work, and dock my pay. Should’ve taken my car to work. What a disaster!— diana (@diana93060118) April 18, 2019 Remove the injured indicidual and restore the service asap. It is rush hour! We don’t have time for this!— Colin Pan (@colin_pc_) April 18, 2019 Every fking day!!! This week !!— David R 😜 (@GuyaneseFreshie) April 18, 2019 Third world TTC— Emma (@Emma70359465) April 18, 2019 Not informative. Estimated time to clear ? It’s rush hour. Is this the third world ?— Rowan (@canmericanized) April 18, 2019 There are no shuttle buses, I've been at Pape for 15 minutes with no buses in sight to keep going so don't give me that bs. How about the TTC have some respect for paying customers who risk losing their jobs on a daily basis because of your service pic.twitter.com/NAUlhqOKWk— David (@ApatheticDave) April 18, 2019 There are large crowds of ppl waiting here for 15 minutes so far and only 2 buses have shown up. Not acceptable. TTC should do better.— sacha (@superstarsacha) April 18, 2019 Some riders were so frustrated, their feedback was arguably irrational. I don't care who the hell is injured, you're making me late again. This is stupid. $150 dollars for this. Toronto needs to stand up against this #ttcsucks #theworstway— David (@ApatheticDave) April 18, 2019 Honestly. This happens so much at rush hour the TTC should just leave the body on the tracks until rush hour ends. Clean it up then. #ttc— ChairManCouch (@ChairManCouch) April 18, 2019 In certain cases, the TTC felt compelled to respond: Hi David, I understand it is frustrating to be delayed, but please try to have some respect for people's lives and wellbeing. We have shuttle buses in operation, with 88 buses on their way in total. ^KJ— TTC Customer Service (@TTChelps) April 18, 2019 Reports have also surfaced about an event at Castle Frank Station in which emergency services have been called.
