Update (May 15, 1:45 PM ET): Uber has confirmed to Narcity that the "Quiet Mode" feature will launch in Toronto within the next several months.\nNobody likes small talk. We're polite Canadians, so we put up with it anyway, but what if there was a switch that you could flip that would instantly let both parties off the hook from having to talk about the weather? Well, that's basically what Uber has brought to the table. Uber's “Quiet Mode” feature is launching in Toronto and it's arguably the best thing since Uber POOL.\nUber has confirmed to Narcity that the "Quiet Mode" feature will be available to Toronto-area Uber users within the next few months. The company has expanded and enhanced its customer services by introducing several brand-new travel experience options for Uber Black and Uber Black SUV passengers. Help with Luggage, Extended Pick-Up Periods, Premium Support, Heightened Professionalism, Temperature Control, Consistent Vehicle Quality and of course, Quiet Mode, will all be part of the company’s new commitment to their passengers.\n“We’ve improved features and requirements to meet or exceed their expectations on every ride. Whether it’s heading to that important meeting or arriving in style for date night, we’re offering an increasing number of ways for riders to personalize their experiences,” reads Uber's news release.\nThe option will be exclusive to Uber Black or Uber Black SUV riders in the Toronto area. To use “Quiet Mode”, riders simply have to click either “Quiet preferred” or “happy to chat” in the preference section on the app after requesting their car. However, GTA residents lucked out as Toronto is currently the only city in Canada to have the "Quiet Mode" option for Uber Black vehicles.\nAccording to Uber, the company is looking to expand the option to other cities soon. But it has yet to offer any details on which cities will get to take advantage of the feature next.
