Toyota is being forced to recall millions more of their hybrid cars. They've just announced the global recall of about 2.4 million Prius models, many of them being in Canada. The defect which may occur in "rare situations", according to Toyota, involves the vehicle failing to enter a fail-safe driving mode in response to some hybrid system faults. This could cause the cars to stall while driving. Toyota hasn't said whether or not this issue has directly resulted in any crashes or injuries. Last month, 1 million Prius models were recalled globally due to a wiring issue that could generate heat and therefore potentially cause fires. Models between mid-2015 and May 2018 were affected.
